The Philadelphia Eagles used a fourth round draft pick on Jack Ikegwonu in the 2008 draft despite the fact that he would miss his rookie season due to a torn ACL and was facing potential criminal prosecution for burglarizing a home and stealing an X-Box. So, when the team made it’s final cuts on Saturday, it was a bit of a surprise to see Ikegwonu didn’t make the cut, considering those issues are now in the past. Ikegwonu, who many believe would have been a 2nd rounder if not for injury, has chosen to remain with the team and join their practice squad. According to the team’s official web site, he will be joined by linebacker Jeremy Leman (who was with Carolina throughout the preseason), fullback Marcus Mailei, and safety Reshard Langford. The team had already announced yesterday that wide receiver Danny Amendola (of 2008 Dallas Cowboys “Hard Knocks” fame), tight end Rob Myers and guards Mike Gibson and Paul Fanaika were signed to the practice squad.
