Feeley Waived; Dixon Claimed

The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that Philadelphia Eagles released quarterback A.J. Feeley to make room for defensive tackle Antonio Dixon, who was let go by the Redskins yesterday. Dixon was an undrafted free agent out of Miami and was most likely signed to get some inside info on the division rival squad. Dixon is a 6-foot-3, 322-pounder.

Feeley was originally kept on the roster in the hopes of working a trade. One was believed to be in the works for either Benjamin Watson or David Thomas of New England (Thomas was later shipped to New Orleans).

Feeley is a vested veteran and therefore does not have to pass through waivers. He is free to sign with any team of his choosing. Hello Patriots.
