The Sixers lucked out when Jrue Holiday slipped all the way to #17 in Thursday’s NBA Draft. He was projected as a top
ten pick. He’s not as polished or NBA ready as Lawson or Maynor, but was definitely the right selection for this club. Resigning Andre Miller should now be a high priority, however, since Holliday can not be thrust into a starting role as a rookie.
The NBA.com report on Holiday’s strengths says “Prototypical size at the point guard position. Long arms help him collect steals and deflections. Great upside defensively. Rebounds and blocks shots. Has a high basketball IQ and good vision. An excellent team player.”
