Max Jean-Gilles confirmed yesterday that he has retained Rosenhaus Sports as his representative. Rosenhaus, who represents Terrell Owens among many other NFL players, announced his new client on
Twitter, the Internet messaging site.
“With the position that I’m in, I just needed someone with more experience,” said Jean-Gilles, who was previously represented by Impact Sports.
Jean-Gilles is in the last year of a four-year contract he signed after the Eagles drafted the 6-foot-3, 358-pound guard in the fourth round out of Georgia. Jean-Gilles started 10 games last season in place of the injured Shawn Andrews, but broke his fibula against the Cardinals on Nov. 27.
His recovery has progressed steadily, Jean-Gilles said. He has been eased into workouts and participated in team drills earlier this week for the first time during organized team activities. Rosenhaus wrote on Twitter that he hoped to have an extension before the next off-season.
“I’m just hoping it comes earlier,” Jean-Gilles said.
“As one of the top young offensive linemen in the NFL, this should be a very smooth negotiation process with the Eagles, especially now that he is healthy,” Rosenhaus wrote on Twitter.
The Eagles had no comment.
PCPTAKE: Just me or did Jean-Gillis suck last year? I thought Nick Cole performed considerably better than him when he replaced him later in the year. Jean-Gillis is in the last year of his deal so this really isn’t anything out of the ordinary.
