Normally I don’t take sides in the coaching debates about who must go and who stays, but after Sunday night’s debacle with the Eagles losing to the Giants, it’s time for Andy Reid to call it a day. Time after time after time, the press conference after another Eagles loss, always has Reid in his no-personality tone saying,” This loss is squarely on me and I’m the one responsible.”
Guess what Andy? You’re absolutely right! Time management problems since the Super Bowl, challenging plays that clearly show the results already, thereby blowing timeouts and last but not least, taking one of the best running backs in the NFL right out of the offensive mix. This offense is very offensive.
I’m tired of watching Donovan McNabb throw high fastballs and down and away sinkers to his wide-outs early in games, then smile and clap as he jogs to the sidelines. Show me some pissed off once in a while Donovan! I’m tired of Reid saying that they have to do a better job on offense. I’m tired of watching a team that has the capabilities to go far in the playoffs be held back by vanilla play calling, and after 10 years I’m tired of Andy Reid.
The defense is putting it all on the line, but you just can’t leave them out there for 35 minutes a game. It will wear out and they played stellar last night, giving the offense a last shot at the win. But on 3rd and 4 a stretch run? on 3rd and 2 another run? 2:20 left and you wait for the two-minute warning when you have time to get another play off? 10 seconds left in the half you run play action? WHAT?? WHAT???
I watch Texas Tech’s offense and how they always have someone open and no one’s been able to stop it consistently. I know, I know it’s college, but this guy has had three different quarterbacks throw for big yards and they score more than a single rich guy at a dance club.
The way the Eagles week after week snatch defeat from the jaws of victory is making me want to throw something at the TV and grab Reid by the collar and wake him up. ENOUGH!
I cannot watch them without getting angry at the ridiculousness of it every week. Time To Go and take Donovan with you!!!
Couldn’t agree more John. It’s ashame, but I’m ready to pack it in any time this team is in a close game in the fourth quarter.
I had backed Reid for a long time. My main thought was that he was a horrible game day coach, but wonderful at preparation. Well, this year the preperation seems lacking as well. They’re not starting off with the fire they used to. I now cannot find one single aspect of Reid’s coaching that I would give a positive grade. It’s time for a change.
Agree with Duke. I was a Reid/McNabb apologist for a long time, but Reid is arrogant, unprepared, brutal to look at, and down right inferior to his competition at the moment. He hurts the Eagles more than he helps them at this point. Case in Point: In two seperate games (Chi, NYG) he chooses run plays 6 out of 6 times to try and score or gain a first down. My question is: WHY???????? He throws close to 65% of the time and he relies on a run when every stat says throw?!!! And then he wont answer a question like a man. he just deflects from his team, and partially accepts responsibility. Amazing how someone can screw up accepting responsibility, but he cant even get that right.
