By 6pm today, the Eagles must trim their roster down to 53 and I am sure there will be some surprises. Take a look at the 53 men who will attempt to bring the city of Brotherly Love a championship.
Starters in bold
QB – (3) Donovan McNabb, Kevin Kolb, AJ Feely – I really felt when Curtis went down that AJ Feely would be let go, however, some guys didnt step up in their final shot vs. the Jets.
RB – (3) Brian Westbrook, Corell Buckhalter, Lorenzo Booker – Simple.
FB – (1) – Jason Davis- Hunt got his chance and didn’t impress, Collins didn’t play vs. the Jets, I guess that means its Davis who gets the gig. I think someone will be brought in from another team once the rosters are trimmed down today.
WR – (6) Kevin Curtis, Reggie Brown, DeSean Jackson, Hank Baskett, Greg Lewis, Jason Avant – Curtis obviously won’t start the season, but he is the starter when he returns. I like Mike Gasperson more then Lewis, but I don’t think he makes the team and yes, I think Lewis sticks around.
TE – (2) – LJ Smith, Brent Celek – Is there really a need to carry three tight ends? Neither Kris Wilson or Matt Schobel did anything to merit a roster spot.
OL – (10) – Tra Thomas, Todd Herremans, Jamaal Jackson, Shawn Andrews, Jon Runyan, Max Jean-Gilles, Nick Cole, Winston Justice, King Dunlap, Mike McGlynn – This depends on Jean-Gilles injury, if he goes down I figure Scott Young is next in line or maybe Mike Gibson, Gibson will be on the practice squad either way. Wouldn’t be shocked if Justice got the axe.
DL – (10) – Mike Patterson, Brodrick Bunkley, Trent Cole, Juqua Parker, Jerome McDougle, Chris Clemons, Trevor Laws, Bryan Smith, Darren Howard, Dan Klecko – I still think McDougle makes the initial roster with Abiamiri going to the PUP list. Klecko makes the team and maybe even plays some goaline fullback.
LB – (6) - Omar Gaither, Stewart Bradley, Chris Gocong, Akeem Jordan, Rocky Boiman, Joe Mays – Starters are simple, Jordan is the top back-up and don’t be surprised if Boiman is let go if there is an attractive name released by someone else. Mays was outstanding and flat out made the team, Studebaker is just to far off, he goes to the practice squad.
CB – (5) – Asante Samuel, Sheldon Brown, Lito Sheppard, Joselio Hanson and Kyle Arrington – The top three will play itself out fine, Hanson proved to be capable, and Arrington bumps JR Reed to the streets.
S – (4) – Brian Dawkins, Quintin Mikell, Sean Considine and Quintin Demps – Demps kick-off return ability takes a spot from Reed and he can also play some corner if they need him.
PUP – Victor Abiamiri
Practice squad : Andy Studebaker, Justin Roland, Mike Gibson, Shaheer McBride, Jed Collins – The Eagles get five practice squad spots and will fill them with players cut from other teams.
There ya go, 53 men, which do you agree or disagree with ? We will find out today at 6pm
K – (1) David Akers
P – (1) Sav Rocca
LS – (1) Jon Dorenbos

Hopefully they figure out a way to keep McDougle. How can they not, especialy considering the G-men will need a DE and could scoop up Jerome.
You cant place abiamiri on the pup list because he started the season with the team in training camp. That leaves one more cut.
