Here are some on my list :

1. Baseball stars – The original best sports game, did things then that still arent done now.
2. Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out – Little Mac was the man
3. Bases Loaded – We kept stats by hand.
4. RC Pro-Am – Had to throw this one in, even if its not “sports”
5. Lakers – Celtics and the NBA Playoffs – Was this the original NBA Live ?

I agree with Duke…Joe Montana SUCKED.

OK, I’ve got some big problems here.
1) NO BASEBALL STARS? Are you kidding me!
2) Blades of Steel was better than Nintendo hockey. Gotta love choose skinny, medium, or fat guys for your squad.
3) Joe Montana’s football licked donkey nuts.
4) You bypassed the whole 2k sports series, which may be a personal preference. I’ve logged many hours with the 2k baseball franchise, though I now prefer the show.
5) World Series Baseball – This was an awesome title for the Genesis.
6) EA’s Triple Play Series- Gotta be in there somewhere. Especially the one with those mini games with the ramps and crap.

Writer’s Note – Forgot to mention something. Nintendo Wii did not count in my rankings. They are a phenomenon all on their own, so look for a future article on Nintendo products from me, with a concentration on the Wii and their Wii sports and Wii fit. For now, sadly i shamefully left off a classic (or two). Here’s my top 3 games that could have made the list, but I forgot/didn’t quite make the cut :

1.) Tiger Wood’s Golf – mesmerizing
2.) FIFA Soccer – good game even though soccer stinks
3.) NHL Hockey by EA Sports – fun, even though i’m not a hockey guy.

Next, I’m going to write an article on games I think should be made into sports games. Some are already there and half decent (poker games) some are still waiting for a bold enough inventor (eating contest game).
